General Information about the Company

 

Turk Telekom is a formerly state-owned telecommunication company. It was separated from the Post Office in 1995 and was privatized to Oger Telecom in 2005. Current chairman of the company is Mohammed Hariri and CEO is Rami Aslan. The company owns 90% shares in Avea (GSM operator) and 100% shares of listed companies: Pantel International AG (wholesale data and capacity service provider), TTNET (broadband provider), Argela (convergence technologies), Innova (IT solutions provider), Sebit A.S. (online education), Sobee (online gaming) and AssisTT (call center).

 

Turk Telekom also has an indirect minority share in Albtelecom, the Albanian telecom operator. 55% of Turk Telekom shares belongs to Oger Telekomunikasyon A.S. and 30% belongs to Turkish Treasury. The remaining 15% is publicly traded. Turk Telekom shares are listed in Istanbul Stock Exchange since May 2008. As of September 30, 2012; Turk Telekom have over 35.000 employees, 14.5 million fixed access lines, 7 million ADSL connections and 13.2 million mobile subscribers. The company announced 12.7 billion of total revenue in annual reports of 2012.
